Virgin Australia: Reported to stay based in Queensland
- Fund manager Deloitte has received the binding commitments from remaining bidders, Bain Capital and Cyrus Capital, for Virgin Airlines (VAH)
- The Queensland Government has reportedly brokered deals with both bidders to ensure the airline’s headquarters remain in Brisbane
- Then the deals would have executed through the Government owned Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC)
- QIC will have opportunity to be a significant investor regardless of which bidder wins the airline over
- Both bidders also iterated that it will not be a ‘low-budget’ airline
- A new owner of Virgin Airlines will announced by next Tuesday on June 30
