  • Boxhub, a Copenhagen, Denmark-founded, Toronto, Canada-based online marketplace for shipping containers, raised $2.7M in Seed funding
  • Backers included Niklas Östberg, Conrad Whelan, David Helgason, Esther Dyson, Charlie Songhurst, Aakrit Vaish, Michael Pomerleau, Samuel Fuentes, and vc firm Innoport
  • The company intends to use the funds to accelerate U.S. expansion and product development
  • The company is an e-commerce and logistics platform enabling the purchase and delivery of shipping containers
  • The managed marketplace is used by customers embarking on DIY/upcycling projects, with many Box hub-procured containers embarking on second lives as tiny houses, vertical farms, and home offices
